The following is an account given by Ray Guthrie of what happened to him in a service at Heart Life. "My wife and I started attending Heart Life six years ago. When we walked through the doors we knew this was where God wanted us to be, where God‘s Word was being taught and preached. I am 54 years old and my hearing has been slowly leaving me with age. Last year during deer season there was an incident with a gun blast that caused my hearing to become a lot worse, and left me with a constant ringing in my left ear. My wife finally convinced me to go to an ear specialist and have the problem checked out. The doctor told me that I had lost 75% of the hearing in my right ear and 87% of the hearing in my left ear. During the evening service on April 11th, Brother Dennis called me out and said that God had shown him an ear problem and he knew it was me. He prayed for me and the ringing in my ear stopped immediately. When we got home from church that night I sat down and turned the television on. My wife asked me if I could hear them talking and I said yes. We checked the volume on the television and it was on 30. Normally, I had to have the volume on 50-55 in order to hear it. Also, I can now talk on the phone and hear people talking clearly in the background on the other end. I give God all the praise for touching my ears." - Ray Guthrie.
About twenty-five-years ago, I had been feeling bad so I went to see my doctor. After blood work, he sent me to a gastroenterologist (digestive specialist). The verdict by both doctors was "Hepatitis B with only two or three months to live" unless I received a liver transplant. Soon afterward, I went to Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas~ in my opinion, it‘s one of the best hospitals in the United States. At the end of the week, tests confirmed the hepatitis, but the new prognosis was that I was "OK" and medication could help sustain me. However, the doctors wanted me to follow-up every six months with blood tests to "keep a check on the progress of the disease". Since then, I have followed doctors‘ orders and I have undergone over 50 blood tests, each confirming that the disease was, indeed, still in my body. Hepatitis is a deadly thing, and in the meantime, it gives you flu-like symptoms. Try to imagine having the flu for over twenty-five-years. Every time I went back to the doctor, he would say, "Mrs. Hudson, you are a blessed woman" because most people don‘t survive chronic hepatitis for this long! My God has always held my hand and put His arms around me.
I feel that I have fought battles, but have won the war! I am alive! Over the years, medication has kept the progression of the disease from killing me, but other tests reveal that scars have developed on my liver nonetheless. I must say though, all through my sickness, I was NEVER afraid! I had peace. For, I knew that if I died, I was The Lord‘s and if I lived, I was His. I believe that my faith in my God has kept the disease from harming me more than it could have. I found out that many who suffer this disease develop cirrhosis or even cancer, neither of which has ever been a diagnosis for me despite the scarring.
A few months ago, my children asked me to go back to Little Rock to see another specialist. When the report came back, he sent me for another because it had come back negative! The second confirmed the first. I heard my doctor, the specialist, say, "Mrs. Hudson, by the way, you know you don‘t have hepatitis, anymore."
I did a Hallelujah dance right there in his office!
After I had settled down a bit, he continued, "You don‘t have B, C, or A! You may have had it in the past, but you don‘t have it, now!" I cried tears of joy all the way home from Little Rock to El Dorado.
I give my God all the GLORY! Looking back, I believe I received my healing one night not long ago at my home church, Heart Life Family Church. The Presence of God was in that place, and the Joy of The Lord touched me. I began to laugh uncontrollably, and all I could say was "Jesus!" I believe I received my healing during that service because my physical condition has been different ever since that night! Within a few days of my ‘joy‘ experience, my husband said to me, "Man! You‘re different!" And, I was; I am! I felt like new life was goin‘ through my veins. My husband tells people, "She‘s different! She‘s a different person!" I am different; I am healed! I give glory and honor and praise to my Lord -H.H.
In the spring of 2003, my wife and I began searching for a church home. After weeks of praying and seeking God we were led to visit Heart Life Family Church. As soon as we walked through the door we knew this was the place we should be. We were warmly greeted and immediately made to feel a part of the family. From that moment on, we have faithfully attended Heart Life.
Pastor Dennis and his wife Amy have all the qualities we were looking for in spiritual leaders. Integrity, character and the ability to show the love of Jesus were important qualities that we were searching for. Pastor Dennis brings the Word to us each Sunday with exuberance and excitement. Each service is uniquely it's own, led by the Holy Spirit.
As a couple, we have grown so much spiritually over the years. We are excited and are looking forward to developing in a more intimate relationship with the Father as well as continuing to grow into the full image of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. -J.J.
I have been a member of Heart Life Family Church for nearly 8 years. In that time, I have learned the importance of studying the scriptures in context along with the importance of laying aside everything "I thought I knew" and just asking God to teach me the truth from His Word. The truths in the Word of God, when applied correctly, will transform you from a life of defeat and failure to one of consistent victory and success. I am living proof of that! -L.M.
My family and I moved to Eldorado in 2007. Heart Life Family Church has been a tremendous blessing to our lives, and we
have continually experienced the move and manifestation of God in our lives ever since we began attending. I recently
fell and injured my left hand and sprained my thumb which caused bruising and swelling. This went on for several days,
to the point that I had trouble even getting dressed and combing my hair. On the following Sunday night service during
praise and worship, I could not even clap my hands together without having bad pain in the injured hand. As praise and
worship continued and the presence of God was so strong in the building, I looked down at my hand and all the bruising
and swelling was completely gone! There was absolutely no pain anywhere in that hand, and it was totally healed and back
to normal again! I don't mean it felt a little better and gradually healed on its own, I mean Instantly God healed my left
hand, and I have had no more pain or symptoms at all! This was a tremendous boost to my faith in God's healing power, and
His willingness to heal our pains and sicknesses! I give God all the glory!

I had been addicted to tobacco for years. Over time, the Lord helped me quit smoking, but I could not seem to quit dipping. I thought I was trusting God to help me quit, but i would go right back to dipping. One day I was sitting on the couch and the Lord told me to drop it and throw it in the trash can. I was like "What? Lord, you know how I am without it." God spoke to my heart and said to quit using your strength and start using mine! This happened on January 6, 2009 and I haven't picked it back up since! Praise God! -M.M.
I came to HLFC about 6 years ago. The love of the people there was quite overwhelming. Pastor Dennis' teaching on God's care and love for his people-who I am in Christ-who Christ is in me and the importance of the unity of the body of Christ have been a wonderful time of spiritual growth for me. The presence of God is very evident when we come together as a body and the gifts of the Spirit are very much in operation. Recently I have been praying about the changes and challenges that have come to our country and the unrest that it has caused in so many people. On a Wednesday night, God, through several tongues and interpretaitons, assured of His love and care and that we have nothing to fear as we seek Him and walk in obedience to His Word. -M.H.
